ABOUT JULIAN
Born in Switzerland, Julian grew up largely in Singapore with a few years in the UK. He moved back to the UK a few years ago and is currently set up in Leeds, where he studies at the Leeds College of Music. He recently completed his BA (Hons) in Music Production and is presently pursuing a Masters of Music in Film Composition.
Julian has always been a gamer and enjoyed the alternate reality they provide. His interest in music began in his early teens with his introduction to Heavy Metal. He has since become inspired by epic films scores, such as the work of Hans Zimmer, Michael Giacchino and Howard Shore. After exploring his interest in music for film he became acquainted with notable game composers, and the likes of Inon Zur and Jeremy Soule have since left lasting impressions on his style. Deciding to combine his passions, he began writing for games and media.
Julian has firm belief that great music goes a long way to further any media outlet. A virtual world is a completely silent one - any missing or misplaced music will be glaringly out of place. He also believes that as games and visual media achieve photorealistic graphics, effective music will allow an experience akin to being in the fictional world personally. With this philosophy he approaches creating music for media with quality, consistency and authenticity in mind.
